Our History
Affordable Housing for the Carolinas (AHFTC) was established in response to the pressing need for affordable housing solutions in the Charlotte region and throughout the Carolinas, following community needs assessments that identified significant gaps in available services. The organization’s formation was driven by a broad coalition of dedicated professionals from diverse sectors, including real estate development, community advocacy, urban planning, social services, education, corporate organizations, elected officials, legal services, city and town staff, and more. United by a shared mission, they aimed to confront the housing affordability crisis, address these service gaps, and improve the quality of life for residents across the region.
Our Mission
Helping Carolina Residents overcome barriers to affordable housing and improve their quality of life.
